The original Queen of Pop Madonna made an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman. The material girl took the opportunity to speak out on the commando trend adopted by Britney, Lindsay et al.
Letterman: Now, I see these pictures on the Internet of some of your top stars of the day without their underpants
Madonna: Oh God
Letterman: You know what I’m talking about?
Madonna: I’ve been hearing these stories. It’s dreadful
Letterman: It’s just remarkable:
Madonna: I love underpants…Honestly, I live in England and so…I’m pretty cut off from a lot of these stories. I only read stuff about, or hear stuff about the Royal Family. And so I’ve come to New York and the first thing I hear is about everyone not wearing their underpants. What’s going on? It’s freezing outside?
I’m not really sure what paper’s Madonna’s reading that all she hears about is the Royal Family.
When Letterman reminded Madonna that she once gave her a pair of underpants, she quipped, “Maybe you should give them to Britney”

Madonna made an appearance at the British Comedy Awards last night in London to present Borat creator, Sascha Baron Cohen with a special award. However the night wasn’t all laughs for Mads after the host Jonathan Ross made a joke about the new addition to her family:
“Congratulations on your little lovely black baby, David. Are you stopping there, or getting more? When I went to Africa all I got was a wallet”.
The Material Girl replied, “You might go home with a black eye”
It was reported that after that the Madonna’s previously jovial mood soured and she left the after-party before it had even began.

The Madonna tracksuit for H&M will give birth to a whole line of clothing and accessories set to debut worldwide in March of next year. H&M has announced that the upcoming “M by Madonna” fashion line will reflect Madonna’s timeless, unique and always glamorous style. The Material Girl worked closely with head designer Margareta van den Bosch to create a wardrobe that represents her own personal and modern spin on her very own wardrobe staples. But judging by these sketches we won’t be seeing any conical bras or purple leotards.

H&M is hoping that this line will emulate the success of their collaboration with Stella McCartney. In comparison, Madonna’s tracksuit failed to ignite sales and months after they were launched the merchandise still remains in H&M stores, suffering from lacklustre sales. H&M spokespersons claims the sales are doing “very well” but refused to reveal any sales numbers.

Madonna (48) has spoken to Time magazine over the adoption of a 13 month old child she adopted. She said “What they (people) should care about is that there are over a million orphans in Malawi”
She spoke of the day her arrived: "He arrived at seven o’clock in the morning and the children were getting ready for school. We were all in the kitchen and the door opened, it was just really quiet and my nanny walked in carrying David and the children just ran to him. Lola grabbed him and held him and it was just this strange quiet moment. It was amazing."
It’s all been a strange trip; this whole fiasco seems to have been handled badly by both Madonna and the media. It will be interesting to see what the next move will be.

Madonna has defended her adoption of a 1 year old Malawian boy."We have gone about the adoption procedure according to the law, like anyone else who adopts a child. Reports to the contrary are totally inaccurate," Madonna said in a statement. "After learning that there were over 1 million orphans in Malawi, it was my wish to open up our home and help one child escape an extreme life of hardship, poverty and in many cases death, as well as expand our family," Madonna said.
"An Open Letter from Madonna":
My husband and I began the adoption process many months prior to our trip to Malawi. I did not wish to disclose my intentions to the world prior to the adoption happening as this is a private family matter. After learning that there were over one million orphans in Malawi, it was my wish to open up our home and help one child escape an extreme life of hardship, poverty and in many cases death, as well as expand our family.
Nevertheless, we have gone about the adoption procedure according to the law like anyone else who adopts a child. Reports to the contrary are totally inaccurate. The procedure includes an l8 month evaluation period after which time we hope to make this adoption permanent. This was not a decision or commitment that my family or I take lightly.
I am overwhelmed and inspired by my trip to Malawi and hope that it helps bring attention to how much more the world needs to do to help the children of Africa.
My heartfelt thanks for all the good wishes I have received and I hope the press will allow my family some room for us to experience the joy we feel to have David home.
