Ladies Evening Wear

Formal eveningwear could vary with the occasion but the essence is to dress in skin friendly fabric, comfortable design and get opulence through accessories and makeup. It could be the prom night, a cocktail, an award ceremony or a launch party. The preparations have to start in advance; you need to decide the dress, jewels, the shoes and the hair do!

Though black is the most undisputable color, one could try silver, copper and gold. These have a radiance and shimmer, which is perfect for after-dark. If you choose not to go by the classic look, try colors like deeper pinks, apricot or burgundy. These shades are best for lighter tones of skin.

Silks, satins, suede and cashmere are the ideal and traditional fabrics. However the market is rife with dresses in brocades, faille, velvet, satin, and taffeta. See what suits your silhouette and body type better, the drapy look or the crisp fabric. The trick here is to let your dress grab the attention, use minimum trinkets. Go for sheer makeup with a bright lipstick - red is perfect.

Some of the eveningwear available is also in chiffons and georgette. But the lightweight fabrics are more suited for a formal dinner. In fact the cut and style for these is also less conventional – the dresses are shorter, unequal length and louder colors with patterns. Velvet though trendy adds volume to the figure. You also need to know the right place to shop for these. Try UK Fashion House. You will find a wide range of variety to choose from. You are not only offered with abundant choice but also reasonable price.

Now about the cut. Camouflage your untoned arms with a shrug or capped-sleeve dress. If you have shapely legs, go in for a long side/back slit; if it’s a cocktail party then it is your day. If you got the figure of a goddess, a fitted column dress would be perfect! If you are not so lucky go in for a large ball skirt. Sequins and embellishments are great but not to be overdone. For an exotic look, the Chinese collar dress is chic.

If clothes maketh a man (woman); the right kind of shoes are essential too. Make sure it’s the right heel, not too high. It shouldn’t be strapy for as the night progress they might bulge. With off shoulders, a choker is a good idea. Or use only a hair accessory or a brooch. Be minimalistic.
